I am Alisa Melhuish, an authorised civil celebrant. Based in Somerville, I perform ceremonies on the Mornington Peninsula.

I specialise in marriage ceremonies, commitment ceremonies, civil unions, renewal of vows and naming ceremonies.

A ceremony is a personal expression; it should reflect your lives, your loves and your values. Together with your ideas and my knowledge we will create a truly memorable ceremony to celebrate any event in your life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who files the paperwork?

All official documentation is finalised and posted to the office of Births, Deaths and Marriages by me within 14 days of the marriage ceremony.

How much does it cost?

My fee includes 2 consultations, 1 wedding rehearsal, email correspondence, preparation and lodging of all official documentation, a commemorative Certificate of Marriage with calligraphy, and performing the official Marriage Ceremony.

All inclusive fee $650 (please note additional travel costs may be required for ceremonies outside of the Mornington peninsula).

How long will the ceremony go for?

It all comes down to content; the length of the ceremony entirely depends on what you choose to include: readings, songs, Vows, exchanging of rings and so forth. A standard ceremony including an introduction, reading, vows, exchanging of rings and the monitum takes approximately 20 minutes.

Am I limited to a ceremony located on the Mornington Peninsula?

I am happy to travel to locations other than the Mornington Peninsula; however additional travel costs may be involved. An individual quote can be arranged.

Where do we meet for the consultation?

I am happy to come to your house for the consultation; I find everyone is more relaxed in their own home. Otherwise we can meet at my home office.

What do we bring to the consultation?

You need to bring your original birth certificate, or other suitable proof of identity such as an overseas passport. If either of you have been divorced or widowed you will need to supply a certificate of divorce or a certificate of death. Certified copies are not acceptable. Official extracts from the office of Births, Deaths and Marriages are acceptable.
